Putting Inspiration to Use!

art nouveau iron work

All that inspiration from my trip to Ljubljana was channeled last night.  The pictures I took of the wonderful architectural detail I loaded on to my Kindle as an alternative to printing them out...that printer uses so much damn ink. Normally, I use the time after the kids go to bed to do a little hand stitching, but last night I got out the Kindle and the sketch book instead. The picture above was my starting point.   And below is the little sketch....

I enjoyed the sketch so much I delayed going to bed...always a good idea...so I could see what the sketch would look like as a repeating pattern. Here are the results...

What do you think? Lots of fun in the making, perhaps I'll try another this evening!

Well, Call Me Inspired!

Inspired...to do what I'm not quite sure...but INSPIRED none the less.

Ljubljana

Recently, I found my self in Ljubljana, the capitol city of Slovenia.  Such a beautiful city!  So much Art Nouveau architecture! It is safe to say I am a HUGE Art Nouveau fan.  I fell instantly in love with Ljubljana, all the beautiful curved lines, the rhythmic repetitions, and of course all of the floral motifs.  So much effort went in to making everything so beautiful.

All that beauty was inspiring!  So, I did what I do, and made a bizillion pictures...and I could have made a bizillion more.   These are some of my favorite architectural details...perhaps you will be inspired, too!
